SPE Wins “Excellent Multi-Purpose Land Use Award” for Tainan Syuejia Canal-Type Solar Project
Release Date : 2025-10-29
SPE has been honored with the “Excellent Multi-Purpose Land Use Award” at the 12th Top Energy-Saving Photovoltaic System Awards for its Tainan Syuejia Canal-Type Solar Photovoltaic Site, recognizing its innovative design and operational excellence that set a new benchmark for Taiwan’s energy transition.
Built above the Syuejia Branch of the Chianan Canal, the site features a scaffold-type elevated structure that integrates water management and solar generation without occupying farmland. This dual-use approach enhances irrigation efficiency, reduces water evaporation and algae growth, and exemplifies the coexistence of ecology and engineering.
The project covers 13 sections across six villages, spanning 5.6 kilometers with an installed capacity of over 5 MW. The award-winning “Section One” demonstrates how solar development can align with the government’s 2050 Net-Zero Emissions target while supporting Tainan’s leadership in photovoltaic installations nationwide.
SPE conducted detailed site surveys and local consultations prior to construction, ensuring harmony with waterway infrastructure and nearby communities. The system uses locally produced Motech high-efficiency modules and Sineng inverters, achieving ISO 9223 C5-level corrosion resistance. With smart monitoring and thermal imaging maintenance, it delivers an average of 3.86 kWh/kW daily, surpassing Taiwan’s average performance. Over 20 years, the site is expected to reduce 6,902 metric tons of carbon emissions.
SPE is showcasing this project and other innovations at Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Sustainability Taiwan 2025, booth M1131a, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, inviting industry partners to explore new milestones in renewable energy.
