SunPower Smart Energy Receives Carbon Neutrality Certificate for Second Consecutive Year

As the global net-zero wave surges, the difficulty of obtaining green electricity and the scarcity of carbon credits have become major pain points for industry. SunPower Smart Energy Co., Ltd. (SPE) has chosen to confront these challenges head-on, not only completing its greenhouse gas verification in accordance with ISO 14064-1 but also offsetting all of its greenhouse gas emissions through carbon credits.

Unlike typical enterprises that only conduct greenhouse gas inventories and verification, SPE has taken the lead by following the requirements of the international standard ISO 14068 to clearly define its organizational emission categories and complete verification. By adhering to the principle of “reduction first, offsetting as a supplement,” the company has achieved full carbon neutrality through offsets, becoming the first energy service provider in Taiwan to receive third-party carbon neutrality certification for two consecutive years. This recognition was awarded by the Taiwan Electric Research & Testing Center.

Chairman Tsai Chung-chih stated that SPE’s mission is to be a “low-carbon energy provider for the world’s factories,” expanding from local expertise to a multinational footprint. The company promotes the development and construction of solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems, while also integrating services such as electricity sales, charging stations, and carbon management to provide enterprises with a complete one-stop green energy solution. The company’s total green electricity output is approximately 200 million kWh, which has been delivered in phases to major wafer fabrication plants, helping clients steadily progress toward their net-zero goals.

Pi Wan-ping, Chairperson of the Taiwan Renewable Energy Application Association and Supervisor of the Solar PV Sustainability Development Association, noted that SPE is a model of carbon neutrality in the energy sector. By transforming its own practical experience into precise services, SPE is helping more enterprises seize opportunities in the global net-zero transition and strengthening market confidence.

SPE continues to invest in sustainable energy, not only bringing tangible and practical solutions to the market but also aligning with the national 2050 net-zero target.
