SunPower Intelligence Provides Local Green Energy Certificates Overseas to Help Taiwanese Businesses Meet RE100 Standards

The challenge of unavailable green energy certificates and the scarcity of carbon credits is like a silent tsunami for green supply chain companies, increasing the difficulty of achieving RE100 and SBTi goals. Carbon neutrality is extremely challenging for global supply chains—both a tsunami and an elimination race that we must face together. Chairman Tsai Chung-Chih emphasized that Taiwanese companies face significant challenges in purchasing green energy. RE100 companies must report their progress annually; technologies evolve, policies change, and the challenges differ each year. In the face of future uncertainties, setting goals has no standard answer. Members of the association, together with strategic partners, are developing comprehensive solutions. SPE specializes in the development and installation of solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems, and factory carbon reduction solutions. Targeting RE100, ESG, and carbon neutrality issues, SPE provides a full range of green energy services, entering the industrial ecosystem.

Taiwanese factories overseas face the challenge of fully connecting with international standards. In July 2020, APPLE announced that its iPhones would achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, and its supply chain must align with carbon reduction goals. Leading supplier TSMC declared it would achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with second- and third-tier suppliers following suit. SPE offers local green energy certificates overseas to help Taiwanese companies connect internationally and meet RE100 requirements. Driven by global green supply chain demand, SPE has helped numerous Taiwanese companies install rooftop solar photovoltaic systems and achieve 100% renewable energy use at overseas factories. They have completed significant solar projects, such as Taiwan's largest 130-hectare flood detention pond solar project, the largest green wedding venue True Love Garden, multiple listed companies’ factory rooftop solar systems, technology park photovoltaic carports, and the eighth Taiwanese RE100 company, Kingwhale Corporation, among other rooftop, water surface, ground-mounted, and fishery-solar hybrid solar projects.

Additionally, by supplying green energy to RE100 brand supply chains and well-known semiconductor manufacturers,  become the first energy service provider in Taiwan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2024. Starting with its own operations, it drives Taiwanese companies to formally plan for sustainable digital and net-zero transformations.
