AcBel Polytech with SPE to Build Taiwan's Largest Water Type-Floating Solar Energy Detention Pond

Before the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in 2021, good news came from the renewable energy industry. AcBel announced today (17) the completion and commissioning of the largest floating solar power plant in Taiwan. Since September 11, 2018, the bid was jointly developed with turnkey contractor SPE. After three years, the 62.3MW water-based solar power system covering a total of 130 hectares has been completed in five flood storage ponds in three counties and cities. This landmark floating solar power plant, the largest in Taiwan, is led by AcBel, and is designed, planned, developed, permitted, and supervised by SPE, with the core concept of creating a low-carbon, people-friendly, eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable, and renewable energy educational green floodpond.
Last year, the floating solar photovoltaic power plant at Zhongpu Township Hall in Chiayi officially opened in August 109, becoming the first large scale solar power plant to enter commercial operation among the 11 flood storage ponds released by TCC in response to the government's renewable energy policy. In 110th year, Chiayi Chih-Chien and Chang-Hua Wan-Hsing and Sifang Hsieh-Hong Pond floating photovoltaic plants were metered in April and June respectively. It is estimated that the flood storage pond site in Area A of Taiwan Sugar can produce a total of 83 million kilowatts of green electricity per year and reduce carbon emissions by up to 43,000 tons, which will not only serve as a flood storage facility but also help to alleviate the current power supply dilemma in Taiwan and fulfill corporate social responsibility.
